Richard Matthews

Dr Richard Matthews is a forensic scientist specialising in digital and media forensics. He is the founder of RHEM Labs, an applied forensic practice based in South Australia.

His work focuses on the scientific examination and interpretation of digital evidence, including images, video, audio, platform data, and system artefacts. He is concerned with evidentiary provenance, integrity, validation, and the limits of inference in legal and investigative contexts, particularly where modern tooling and automated systems are involved.

Dr Matthews provides forensic analysis, expert opinion, and advisory work to courts, legal practitioners, institutions, and organisations where the reliability of digital material is in question.
